I think that will be easy that users could register in the future Elive website, I have not checked it yet but I suppose that is possible (by a wordpress plugin) to request some user info on this step, some useful info of the user, that we can use in the future for anything, I don't know exactly which things, this thread is for discuss that :), in order to have them ready before to publish publically the website.

Installer-module Features: Trial Install (25 replies)

In the past, we had "payment per download", which was easy and fast, the good of it is that users will pay on this step and forget about paying later. Then we had "payment per installation", which is very good because now the user can TRY and see if Elive satisfy him, or also, to see if he has a correct support of drivers (you have payed for something that doesn't boot your computer ? not nice).

Actually this method is very good, the only bad thing is that an user can't really "try more" Elive, I mean, Elive is fully featured, I think that almost nobody knows how much internal features has, and they are discovered over the time to play with it, so could be nice to have a "trial install mode", this means, for example, one month (or 2 weeks?) of free install. The problem of this idea (apart that requires Elive accounts and some work in the website and this feature), is that the user could come more upset about the payment, is better to "pay and forget" than "play and enjoy elive and in the future see a blocking thing"

Thoughts ?

If we will have the possibility to register users in the new website, which features can give to the users to have an Elive account ? some ideas:

[*] Able to add comments
[*] Able to make translations
[*] Register users data (just like the actual Collaborate page)
[*] Have a better control of installer-modules (more details in the other threads), like giving 1 month free, etc...
[*] More nice and better ideas ?

Installer-module Features: Multiple Computers allowed (5 replies)

The "nature of operation" of the installer-modules doesn't allow an installer-module to work on a different computer, and this is not very nice, an idea is to use "Elive Accounts" in the website (logged users), and give them the opportunity to use more installer-modules for its other computers on his house (for example 2).

The only problem is: how to know if they are going to be used on his house/computers or they are giving them free over internet ?

Suggestions ? ideas ?
