(SOLVED!) ntpdate not running / auto set time
March 09, 2010 12:45PM
At each boot I have to reset the time to my local time manually, even though the timezone is set to Africa/Cairo. When I use the "set time & date dialog" It shows that Africa/Cairo is selected, but I get the message that ntpdate is not installed. Actually it is.

If I run it manually I get the error :
10 Mar 06:34:15 ntpdate[5075]: no servers can be used, exciting

any help appreciated.

Is ntp package installed? It is needed deadly nod

Asus EeePC 1000H [Elive 2.0 Topaz]
Toshiba Satellite p10-802 -ATI video, ATI chipset, RealTech audio- [Elive 2.0 Topaz]
I hate ATI... but I love Elive. It work with ATI with no problem.
Re: ntpdate not running + have to set time each boot - resolved

Thanks for the response, yes I finally figured out the ntp daemon was not installed, so although I had installed ntpdate it would not run correctly.

The Date problem seems to be resolved.

Thanks again
