Attansic L1 Gigabit drivers

I have the Asus P5L VM 1394 motherboard, and I lack drivers for the on-board network card, Attansic L1 Gigabit.

So what I search for is drivers to either compile or install in some other way.

As it was quite long time since I did these things, I'd like if you can explain it as easy as possible.

It works with a 2.6.21 kernel, but there isn't a an elive one.

To get it you should switch apt sources to lenny (testing) and then apt-get install linux-image-2.6.21....

This is not recommended and you could break your boot but your NIC will work because the driver is included.

Good luck

Live CD worked fine for me, but I'm not sure (especially when it comes to my Radeon) if all will work fine after installation. I'm a KDE user since always, and know pretty much how to configure my system using KDE, but don't know how it is with drivers under Elive. Can someone point me what difficulties I will probably have to cope with? Will my favorite programs from KDE (Kaffeine, Mplayer, AmaroK, K3b i.e.) work under Enlightement?
