is normal that elive for macbook doesn't work in a macbook?
November 11, 2007 02:09PM
:P hi all!
I'm new in this forum!

I have a problem:
I have downloaded (here: [isos.elive-systems.com]) elive b12. I have burn it in a dvd (i can't find a new cd :D ) and I have tryed to start it.
But: at the boot there is a problem:
isolinux starts but is say:
"Boot: could not find kernel image: linux"
and this words loop infinitly.
this problem is borned because I have burned elive in a dvd, or because I download it stopping the download some times?

I have a macbook intel based (Mactel).
How can I start elive??

Thanks very much!

Yup, this is my first post, registered just to respond...

So I had the same trouble in my mac book.

then tried,

Default

at the prompt, and had success. However after install I was able to reboout to elive. Then ran whatever script loads on first boot, and got kernel panic at next reboot.

This is definitely a problem with the b12 image.

Good luck with the problem.

In case developers read this I was using the b12 macbook image on a fairly new macbook (not pro).

Its a problem of the isolinux.bin file, that's fixed for the next build

I downloaded the elive CD then I burned it. I booted my Macbook pro (holding C). I get some linux text wile the CD boots. Then everything stops at with C:

I can't get past the C:

I see that there may be an issue with this version of the CD. Or, do I have to type something?

If you say what version you are using and what the exact final text reads, I may... may be able to help, without this kind of info I can not trouble shoot. Simply put, the more you tell without giving up private info the better.

Also...

to Thanatermesis, could you post the general ETA on the new beta? If not, perfectly understandable.
