Search function

I'm new to eLive / Thunar, so maybe I've missed something obvious ...

But a search function sure would be nice

What would be REALLY nice would be if the ALT+ESC Run command searched for files as well as apps

Now that would be really cool!

Seriously, this needs to be added!

This should be the top priority of the Elive/Enlightenment development community.

Heck, even Windows 95 has a file search function.

IMHO, this is not an option, but a must in order for Elive to be a credible OS.

my suggestion for search-tool:

- beagle
- catfish

personally, i am now testing beagle,
which one is the best for me, to use
beagle looks fine, but a little bit fat

- use synaptic to get them .)

LoL: having access to search engine via ALT-ESC looks as a fine suggestion for developers.)

I noticed no search function last night. -Bummer- Had to open a terminal and use find.It works, but a GUI would be nicer.

I've had beagle before in SUSE and usually uninstall it because it's so bloated. Catfish I've never tried......

Hey all!

I cant understand your being upset because of a missing search tool.
Calm down folks. emosmile

There are search tools in the repos!
Just apt-get or use Synaptic to install them.

What can I say? I'm used to konqueror and it's search capabilities. Thunar doesn't have that. It's nice to have a search function in your file manager (along with other cool features)instead of having to start another app.

Anyways, I found searchmonkey in the repos and I am installing it now.....

Wow. Works great. Now I just wonder if there's a way to integrate it into thunar.

Also, I hate CAPTCHA

Boy did I pick a wrong day to be an idiot.
