VT will not respawn when you log out

I always use the virtual terminals, but currently in Topaz they do not respawn when you logout. They just hang there, making the VT useless. I like the idea that there are four of them, but I was wondering what was keeping them from respawning. ("Then there were three..."wink This happens in live mode; so I wonder if installed mode would have the same problem.

The splash screens could be of use here as well, as I need the background to remind me who is signed on to which VT.

The virtual terminals, or VTs are the text consoles you get when pressing Ctl-alt-f1 thru f4 (I like how elive limits it to 4 instead of 7, but maybe 5 could be more useful--VT1 is stuck on the menu) from the GUI. I have wallpaper for those VTs too, so I miss the /proc/splash and bootsplash things as well. Those items are needed for the background to work.
