Well, Elive RocKs! why though? well i was in a crises last year even this year when my mainboard ACPI got damage and windows would not install on it, i tried alot of linux then, suse, fedora, mandriva, ubuntu, they all worked except ubuntu it normally froze somewhere in the kernel i dont know i could not see what is going on, OMG gentoo PAIN IN THE ASS. anyhow i found Elive the first look at it i was amazed e16 e17 WOW i fell in love with my computer again, i fell in love with elive all though my pc was half-dead elive worked fine on it, it brought the fun i missed in computing back to me. the developers and the hackers roxville LinuxNIT and the big daddy Thanatermesis are some really cool guys i am really happy i have as friends. THANKS ELIVE FOR BRINGING BACK MY LIFE TO ME!

darn i forget something well it's normal to forget this hehe well my system is crappy we know but i also have to thanks elive for taking away the BLUE SCREEN from me
and drivers support AWESOME no more going on google typing in some driver name n looking for it than i have to WAIT until it's finish downloading those days are gone baby thanks Elive!

I must agree this is a excellent distro today a friend popped in with a brand new Canon scanner that he can't get to work on windows so i got my xp running and waited for it to do its bit loaded all the software and tried to scan it then told me to unplug the Usb and restart the program 3 time we did this eventually after about 20 mins we did a scan.
I then booted up Elive clicked on scanner program started up pressed test scan ok then scan and save 1 perfect scan total time including boot up i have 4 distros running on resirerf3, so boot takes about 80sec under 2 mins, this Distro just works never crashes and i do heavy work most of the time, This distro is very personal you just feel the thought and devotion that has been put into the design and development every thing has been tested and just works as it should well done to thatman.

I'm running elive on an old CPQ Armada M700 with a Ralink 2500 chipset pc wireless card. It all worked out of the box, better than many of the 'big' distros, and fast too. The only issue is the system font size on a relatively small screen. Otherwise, love it!

i'm just running ubuntu and opensuse not so long ago, and this is a fabulous, a great distro.

actually, i never thought my old laptop could be so quick and beautiful at the same time.

complains are more easy to see, but it's because many people are trying with elive and they think that it's excellent, with a little things to be fixed.

I have been looking for a distro for my mom who has been having troubles with her windows machine. She just wants to enjoy the internet, not have to spend most of her time with liveonecare before she can get online, then be slowed by things running in the background all the time.
She loves the look and feel of Mac but just can't afford it, plus office, photo editing ect.
I have put together a rig from a recycle shop. 3gig P4 think center for $65 so I bought 2 of them. 4 used 80gig HDs. and looking for a OS that has an easy professional look and feel that can do it with stock motherboard graphics.
I think I found the OS.
I sent her one configured thinkcenter and kept the other, both with removable hard drive bays.
When things are ironed I send her a hard drive to plug in and go, she sends me hers for next upgrade. Other drives kept in the machines for personal files /user.
So far she loves it.
She thinks she got her Mac she asked for.

Used, recycled office machines that can now fly.

Yes this is a great distro, i have been using elive for over a year and it is great. The unstable version is more stable than most other distros. Thanks to all who have worked on the development version.
