I'm using Chrome (got it from [www.google.com] ) and loving it.

I do have an issue, though: the icon doesn't show up anywhere. How might I manually fix that? Where are the icons stored in Elive 2.0?

Everything else about Chrome works brilliantly. Any idea what I can do to have the icon display properly? Thanks.

Look. The problem is, that google chrome work just as Portable. So it is unpacking to /opt/google/chrome. Go there, copy icon you want from there in your home folder. And then chose an icon you heve copied for Chrome.
Added ---------
Easyest way to add icon....
Start chrome browser, Right click on the top edge (border), chose Edit Icon, click on field under "Icon" text. And chose needed icon.

It is nothing relativ to Elive.
Chromre is beta. And you use it at your own risk.

I hope you don't think I'm complaining! I'm really not. I do love Elive. :-)

I follow you up to "then chose an icon you have copied for Chrome." How do I do that? I appreciate your time and patience.

No, I'm far too thick. I'm not following. Where do I place the icon so that the system will put it everywhere? Is this possible?

Hi! Piggybacking on this thread as I'm a bit slow too...

I can't find Chromium by searching for it in the synaptic (GUI) Packet Manager; I just have the default repositories added; which other one do i need?

I got the Chrome package from Google, but it complains once opened, "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2"...

I just spent 5 hours getting my xorg.conf and nvidia drivers in place, please give me some easy fixes! =)

Cheers,
Flemming

Hi! I'm new to these forums and am thoroughly enjoying elive but have similar problems as described above with no chrome icon displaying.
The method of editing the icon will work if I'm logged on as root, but as a local user the icon remains invisible even when I browse to the correct chrome logo in the "change icon" menu.
I've made a workaround by redirecting the blue globe conkeror logo to chrome application so I can launch chrome from conkeror icon but has anybody solved this problem definitively?

Also, although I have latest elive installation, chrome tells me it can't update because my "operating system is obsolete"! Any suggestions?
