Elive Settings...
January 09, 2011 03:48AM
Greetings.

Writing to comment that I have two Elive complications have not been resolved and I venture to receive support from all staff.

Elive 1 .- I do not load the volume control. I throw two windows, one is Guda another, with the words: "... could not find any accessories or devices volume control Gstreamer" and "Enlightenment could not run the application: gnome-volume-control. The application failed to start. "

2 .- The second is more aesthetic. Do not know how to remove the "pager module" on the desktop. Instead of being in a container placed directly on the carpet.

Clarifying, I'm a newbie in GNU / Linux.

Any input is appreciated in advance.

@Hazzarel:
Google Translate has produced nearly-unreadable English.

I am not "staff", and I'm not an expert in eLive or Linux, but maybe I can at least determine what your two problems are.

1. What are you trying to control the volume of? What application do you want to listen to?
- What kind of hardware do you have?
- Do you have hardware volume control keys? (On my eeePC, Fn-F7, Fn-F8 and Fn-F9 are the volume control keys, and they work fine with eLive).
- You can place the Mixer module on a shelf - would that be sufficient?

2. The pager module can be placed in a shelf. Is that what you want? Or do you really want it "on the carpet"?
- in fact, the default pager is indeed on a shelf (#6) at the top right of the screen. You can delete the pager from the shelf, or modify its behaviour. In the main menu, select Desktop/Shelves/Shelf 6 to access its controls.

Explain the problem:

1.- Have audio but cann't open te mixer in "menu>>>sound>>>volume control" i use the alsa mixer in the shell to controlate it.

2.- The pagger module is add directly in to desktop an i cant remove it.

I lerned how to set modules en shelf, but no solve the 2° problem...

thanks for your special attenton.

@Hazzarel: Congratulations on your English! It's better than Google Translate, and certainly better than my Spanish!

1. Audio config:
Settings/Settings Panel/Extensions/Mixer
There you can select your audio interface and set it up.

2. Like I said, the Pager is installed all alone on Shelf 6, NOT on the desktop. You can remove it from there if you wish, and add it to Shelf 8 (bottom right) or Shelf 9 (bottom left) or wherever you want.
