How to pass kernel parameters
October 22, 2008 06:34PM

I have just bough ELIVE-GEM, I have an old sony pcg-c1ve subnotebook. which has a special cd-rom drive that is not detected by the script of elive. I figured it out how to make it work. ( it works with Knoppix ) I have to pass boot parameters

Pass to the kernel parameters : linux ide2=0x180,0x386, so the kernel can correctly detect the cdrom device later.

HOW DO I DO this with Elive ?

I am not a linux guru so I have no idea how to start but the boot menu does not seem to have this option to add optional boot parameters to the kernel.

Could someone point to the right direction, please !

Thanks a lot,
