Live CD just goes to grub??
March 23, 2009 10:15PM
Hello,

I've burned the livecd and when I reboot into the livecd I just get the grub prompt.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
Am I supposed to do something to get grub to load the image from the cd??

I think the problem is in grub.

fhydan,

What version? After you burn the cd and you get the grub menu, you can't click on Elive and go to your desktop, is that right?

No...When I reboot into the livecd I just get the grub prompt...

No option to boot Elive...

Is the latest unstable version....
In my Laptop everything OK.

I 've burned livecd in lower speed but the same....

Livecds like Ubuntu,Mandriva etc works fine...
Desktop: MOBO:Asus P5K-E ,CPU:Intel Q6600 , VGA:Ati 4850 and 4Gb Ram....Optical Grive: LG...

I like the Elive...Its fandastic....

Maybe i try the stable version in 30 Euros , for better???????

(Sorry for my Englise...)

So you are trying to boot the Live mode right ? not the installed one... confused

And what you have then ? there's no options to boot Elive ? what happens if you just press Enter ? You don't have any grub error message ?

I've used the live cd v. 1.9.39 on both laptops and desktop and booting fine from the cd.
Have you tried verifying your download (check using the MD5 sum found in the download directories) and burn at a low speed, especially if you're using the cd in another machine high burning speeds may cause incompatibilities.
