This Issue isnt my computer as ive tried it in 4 different systems....
I thought Maybe my cd was burnt incorrectly so i reburned it at a slwoer speed, nothing...

Im really frustrated at this ive donated 2 times now and have yet to get a working os....

Downloaded the 1.9.56 live CD and initially was quite impressed, BUT...

I attempted to connect to the internet via 'pppoeconf', 'pon', 'poff', etc. 'pon dsl-provider' connected me to the internet, but I am unable to browse or make any use of the connection. I managed to connect only by copying the 'dsl-provider' file that I use with my Kubuntu install (to the '/etc/ppp/peers' directory). If anybody is interested this is what it looks like (trimmed a bit):
# Minimalistic default options file for DSL/PPPoE connections

noipdefault
defaultroute
replacedefaultroute
hide-password
noauth
persist
plugin rp-pppoe.so eth0
user "----@----"
usepeerdns

The problem now I found was that the connection did not stay up and disconnected me after about 30 seconds of inactivity. Waiting for the re-connection while browsing was a bit of a pain.

The other big problem I had was that the entire system froze on me after a while, and left me with nothing but flashing scroll lock and caps lock LED's. This required hard resetting.

zonestar2424,wave if you downloaded Elive 1.0 it doesn't seem to work on newer computers. Try Elive 1.9.56 unstable version and see if that will work, as far as paying goes i'm sure it will be worked out when Elive 2.0 is final work You can go to www.elivecd.org and e-mail Thanatermesis clap
