How can i change the fontsize of the default
elive-theme in e17. The used fonts are to small for my liking. How can i change the systemwide used fonts.

Hi... perhaps can you try to edit the file :
~/.gtkrc-2.0 and change it for the good font and fontsize...

Ubuntu is a very old african word, to say :
"I can't understand my Debian..."

I changed the two entries sans 12 to sans 14 but saw no perceptible difference so I changed then back. It seems to me an issue overall scale of the theme and associated menu boxes. Applications like Firefox & ABIword appear fine.

Yeah, changing the GTK theme doesn't help, I noticed. It will change font sizes in programs (especially noticable on the buddy list in GAIM) but not the title bars of windows or anything.

Wish I could help, I found the default font too tiny as well. I now use the Milky theme regularly, much more pleasant on the eyes.

Try E17 menu -> Configuration -> Configuration Panel -> Font properties, then change the fonts you want, it works for me. (This is valid for e17 version 0.16.999.026 from GEM.)

This doesn,t work for the elive theme. At least not on my box.
There are some themes in the repositories
where this does work, for instance the default e17 theme.
