Help!! - I can't see disk D in Elive
January 25, 2008 02:21AM
I had XP installed in my computer, and then installed Elive.
Everything is good, but in Elive, I can see the disk C of windows, but disk D cann't be amounted due to the so called reason:
"invalid ntfs argument"

What's wrong?

Watch your fstab in /etc/fstab(in root mode, and have a backup)
Should appear something like that. (I copy and paste the line of the mounted ntfs partition, all in one line)

/dev/hdaX /mnt/windows_D ntfs-3g defaults,auto,nonempty,force,locale=es_ES.utf8,users 0 0

In the X put the number of your D windows partition.

Then restart.

you can try just do somethink like that

mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdaX /media/D

maybe you have to install ntfs-3g first

and if that works, you can add a line like that to your fstab file

/dev/sdaX /media/D ntfs-3g defaults 0 0

note that the separators are TAB chars
