Unable to boot, image mounting problem
February 23, 2009 09:32PM
Hey all,

Yesterday I downloaded elive_1.0_Gem, verified md5sum was ok burned it on cd-r, not rw.

At boot, no matter what bootoptions chosen, after initial kernel loading, further boot fails with mount error.

ls: /DSSCD/cdrom/deliver: no such file or directory
something wrong with image mounting

/tmp/initramfs-debug: mount /DSSCD/cdrom/base/base //DSSCD/base failed: no such file or directory

It seems(?) it cannot find a cdrom device to mount the image off. What to do?

I also had this problem. I tried an unstable version with unetbootin (version for elive) on my netbook, and it worked, so I wanted to download the stable version. I don't have a problem with paying for software that works, but it seems in this case I paid for nothing :-< .
