The new filesystem types
October 16, 2009 11:26PM
Wich one of the new filesystem types,Ext4 and ReiserFS4,would be much better, properly, faster or stable for a fresh Elive install or upgrade?
I heard that Thanatermesis is a reiserfs fan and supporter for Elive's filesystem.wink
Personally I used ext3 type untill now.

Thanks!Anyway I understood since last night when I already installed Elive 1.9.50 with Reiser4 default(too bad I didn't choose with gzip compression) and it's runing very well,I installed ecomorph too.I'll see today more testings. wink

Does anyone else use the new Reiser4 filesystem?Do you have any problems and what?
For me it is very buggy and unstable and I reinstall freshly on lzo compression. The system freezes totally very often, ctrl+alt+backspace doesn't help, only a forced reboot, and my pppoe internet connection is very slow and unstable.
I haven't these problems with 1.9.50,only with the latest 1.9.51.
I hope the new update release will be much more stable and flawless,as usually and always untill now.
