Hi. As i know the install module is for 1 computer only. So you can reinstall Elive 2.0 on the same computer as many times as you need or want. But not on another computer.

Je trouve cette limitation totalement injuste car JAMAIS signalée...................

The problem you are having may be down to VirtualBox. Did you install it in Virtual box first or just on your Eeepc hard drive? If the installer module is per-pc as DronAn said, then it will not work on any other pc because it is registered to your Eeepc.

If you installed it in VirtualBox on the Eeepc then you'll have to figure out what your Eeepc VirtualBox settings are and set it to the exact same on your desktop, if that is even possible.

It's just confusing.
The install it's only for 1 PC and every time I need to install I have to pay again or can I install it in my laptop and my desktop too??

1 installer for 1 computer, and you can reinstall it al much as you wish (with no need to pay again).

I've received my installer module by email after I paid for it. I have it on usb stick. How do i use it? whenever i double click on it opens it up with mplayer. the file name is installer.cod. What gives?

Well, it's been a while since I did that last time. So I'm not completely sure. But I think you should simply run the installer and when it asks for the module you insert it.
Doubleclicking the Module will, of course, lead to nothing useful.

Oi, eu quero comprar o installer-modulo, para poder instalar o (Elive 2) em meu pc.
o poblema é que não tenho conta-bancaria e nem internet em minha casa, estou agorinha em uma lan-house...
Vocês não teriam outra forma de pagamento, exemp: (Boleto-Bancario)...

ajude-me estou sem sistema operacional. E usando o Elive-CD não dá pra configurar do meu gosto...

Em alternativa ao Elive Topaz tens o elive zeitgeist que é grátis. A base do zeitgeist é o elive 1.9.61 que foi a ultima versão antes de saír o topaz e como tal não há diferenças significativas entre as duas versões. Além disso os repositórios são os mesmos, portanto não terás aplicações mais actualizadas no topaz do que aquelas que encontras no zeitgeist.
Para descarregar a versão zeitgeist vais ao site do elive e clicas em ''develepment'', escolhes um mirror da lista (por exemplo Mirror Seablade (US - California)) e depois dentro da parent directory selecionas zeitgeist e descarregas elive_1.9.61-zeitgeist_unstable.iso.
Isto se fizeres muita questão de usar o elive porque tens muitas outras distros mais estáveis, actualizadas, gratuitas e com melhor suporte nos foruns do que esta.

I'm very new to the Linux world, and I absolutely love the enlightenment interface.

So much, in fact, that I purchased Elive Topaz for my laptop computer, and later bought another installer module for my desktop machine.

All was going well until I decided to try a few new distros on my desktop machine... (wiped out my Elive install)
I was under the impression that I could reinstall Elive at any time on the same box it was installed on before, but neither module will work for me now.

No hardware has changed... Can anyone help? I don't really mind spending the money once, but no distro is worth it if all I get is a headache.

Hi Tjunky , the module has to work with the same computer as many times as you want.
Go to your mail manager, and then download it.

Trying to install Topaz from "live" CD as my computer will not accept USB stick. Made "donation", got an email with a "installer-module.cod" link in it, but I cannot do anything with this. No instructions how to access/open the darned thing. Just sits in my download file, useless.

As I try to proceed through installation process, get to obtain/insert module, then a page comes up asking for installer code and email address to mail module info to, no place on that page to insert the code I already have? Cannot get past that page, stopped dead.

Not that this would help right now, maybe just add to your frustrations, but-
If I remember, when I started looking into Elive, there was an option to download the ISO image to disc and run from that. Next, after running the live cd, there is an "upgrade elive" application that simply activates the full version and installs the full version to whatever partition you formatted to your hard drive. My experience involved the live usb path, but everything that I read also pointed to a live cd as well.
Hope this helps, this really is a cool OS and should be a LOT easier to install, but who are we to crack on those that wrote this code? As Alex said, relax, take a breather, and everything will work out.

If I try to install Elive Topaz 2.0 with "pick" this installer-module.cod, I get a ERROR: INVALID

Well, this (your) installation-routine is less as Sh**.
I am very angry, no response of my 3 E-Mails (I have purchased now a second try and no E-Mail with an installer, nothing come with the first purchase..) and now this..

After the second purchase, i become a E-Mail, store the including File (installer-module.cod) on my HD and on my USB-Stick.
In Elive installing routine, my USB-Stick is hidden and so I go to my HD and Pick therre the installer-module.cod.
But Elive tell me, this is not a right Installer-modul.cod, the installer-module-ID is wrong..

I have much OS testet, but this (your) installation-routine is so bad..I am very angry about this bullsh** installation protection..

Wait for a fundamental and right Step to install this fuc**** Elive Topaz 2.0 on one (my) Computer.

I recently went through this. I paid. How to get it to work?!?

ELive send you an email. That includes "installer-module.cod" as an attachment. Once I found that again, I can now scp it all over the place and install ELive on any machine I find.

I am seriously considering Elive 2 Topaz. From my tests it works perfectly well on my computers and finds suitable drivers etc.
However I got confused about the license. My question is can I use the same key on multiple computers? I would like to run Elive on more than one computer.

I am not familiar with the key insertion method of Elive and can it be done offline? The computer I am willing to use Elive as an OS will not connect to the internet. The other one might connect from time to time.

I read a lot complaints that keys work only on one installation so before I invest money I need to be sure it is what I want.

As far as I know the Keys expire after some hours. I do remember so called "Invitation Codes" expired after 48 hours.
But I'm not sure wether this applies to the regular sold Codes too.

Hi, i have made a first installation, with the install code that i have received by mail. When i try to reinstall elive with my liveCD, the program tell my that the install code is not correct !
For my first install my code was “”. If i try to reinstall, i get a new code, for that my install code program received by mail don’t work anymore. What can i do ?

Same problem for me...I installed elive once with the installer code sent by email.
I had to reformat my same laptop and tried to install elive but the installer kept saying wrong installer code??
Seems like so many fans of elive had the same problems and this will keep me away from elive.

I just bought a new computer 64 bit and the installer code reads invalid. I get that this is a different machine but I shouldn't have to pay again as this is my only pc. Is there a work around? Any help appreciated.

Never mind, I found my installer file!

Well, here I am again after a few years. I had a paid registration code for Elive Topaz, but it is long, long gone. Is there any way for the deleoper of Elive to find that code for me again?

Sorry to cause so much trouble. After trying so many distros I have to say, Elive was my favorite and I'd like to try it once again.
