I've installed Topaz, everything seems fine. I decided to try the compressed Reiser4_lso format for my / and /home partitions. Was that not a smart thing to do? Anyone else do this sort of thing?
The only two issues I have is about a 15-second delay at boot-up while the drives are loaded (I have Win7 on another drive) and an annoying Iceweasel lag when the application is launched. Iceweasel comes up, but then is freezes for a while, perhaps 20 seconds. Then it seems fine.
I'll reinstall IceWeasel to see if it helps. All other apps seems fine.
re Iceweasel I think the freeze is a general issue or bug in Iceweasel/Firefox itself. Like you I have both Linux and Windows and have the same issue with both Iceweasel and Firefox (the official and branded version of Iceweasel). Its also an issue with GoogleChrome but the freezes tend to happen when I have more than one tab open.
