icons & minimized windows

Hi,
I did something to my windows the other day and accidentally got rid of the little icon that pops up on the desktop when one minimizes a browser window. Now when I minimize a browser, it goes into hiding and no icon appears.

How does one get the icon on the desktop back?

Right-click on a shelf, select "add contents," add the iBox to a shelf.

I followed your directions in the last post, but that didn't fix the problem. It would place a firefox icon over top of the icons that were already in the ibar at the bottom of my screen. That icon had no functions associated with it, as tapping it wouldn't cause firefox to open if I minimized it. What would happen is that the icon in the original ibar that lay underneath the superimposed icon would activate and launch its associated program. I also couldn't drag the new icon anywhere else on the desktop.

I decided to install the new 2.0 stable version in place of the previous development version that I had been running. I did a fresh install, so the problem has gone away for now. But I still don't know how to fix it if I goof again and eliminate the minimization icon that appears at the top left of my desktop when I minimize a window.

You probably deleted the shelf at the top left corner of the screen (shelf 5)
The safest way to fix it is

left-click > Desktop > Shelves > add Shelf
a new shelf will appear, probably at the bottom right of your screen
right-click on the self and select shelf settings

(if the original shelf is still there then you just deleted the iBox so all you do is click on the shelf and it will bring up its settings window)

now click on "Advanced" then in the layout section of the shelf settings window and select where you want to place the shelf.

You can now click on "Set Contents" to add the iBox.
