How to add "Places" module?
January 20, 2011 05:26AM
I would like to learn to add a module that is not in the elive repository. There are several interesting ones on the Exchange site, and I have seen the Places module working on PCLOS. So I downloaded it:

[exchange.enlightenment.org]
[code.google.com]

But I don't know what to do with it eyepoping

Do I have to compile it? If so, how? The eLive User Guide talks about "make-deb compile", but that doesn't seem to exist in Topaz.

Anybody know how to install a module from svn?

I tried autogen.sh, but this is what I got:

[jeff ~/places]$ ./autogen.sh
Running autopoint...
autopoint: *** cvs program not found
autopoint: *** Stop.
Running aclocal...
./autogen.sh: line 9: aclocal: command not foun

So, there's a lot I don't know about compiling packages in Debian.

Can you help?

I'd also like to install it, I'm on the last unstable version zeitgeist.

How can I do that?

Is it an .edj file? I used to place modules in my $HOME/.e/e/modules, and when I go to the menu to add or enable it, the new module would be listed.
