I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of issues regarding my installation. Nr. 1: My screen always dims on loading, and it's absolutely awful. Nr. 2: When I reboot, or shutdown, my screen gets scrambled and I usually have to press the power button to shut down. However, if I log out first, then it shuts down fine. Alex, that's exactly the one. Two things: 1. I cannot for the life of me understand why I un-installed it. I must have simply been careless. 2. I was wondering whether someone can help me. I've obviously un-installed the program which shows your external hard drives on the desktop of Linux. What's the module called which shows a bar graph of all your drives, and shows how full or empty the external, and other drives are? For the life of me, I just can't remember. I have ELive on a ThinkPad SL400, and am, on the whole, quite pleased with the installation. My only gripe, really, is as those comments above, that the system hangs, and the graphics screw up, when I reboot or shut down the system. I can logout, back to the login screen without any issues.
