My touchpad was driving me nuts, cursor jumping all over, never knew where I was going to end up when I started typing. I finally broke down and googled it, this seems to work well for me. So I'm sharing, just in case somebody else is at the point of mayhem.by Jedidyah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
Check out Debian Packages, View Package Lists, View packages sin the stable distribution, Miscellaneous, dvb-apps or dvbstream. I haven't tried them, but they look like what you're looking for.by Jedidyah - Applications
Googling shows similar issues dating back at least to 2006. Not sure if it's Enlightenment or Debian issue.by Jedidyah - Applications
No. My cds played on soundjuicer, just got the error popup first. I ignored it, and clicked "Play", and they playedby Jedidyah - Applications
Click on Internet Configurator, bottom right corner of screen, Network Connector pops up, scan for signal, choose essid, key in pass key and encryption type, click on Connectby Jedidyah - [OLD] - Installed Mode
2 cds got the same message, then soundjuicer popped up and started playing. Music cds don't have to be mounted to play, but elive seems to want to mount them and gives the popup when it can't. Not a solution, I know, just confirmation.by Jedidyah - Applications
I did what Wilbur did, because I had already partitioned with Mint, and I had no trouble with installation. My main reason for coming to eLive was because Grub 2 very nearly ate my BIOS (Mint 9). Since the switch, I've had no problem. If you can't get a solution on the Debian boards, you could try partitioning with another distro and then overwriting it.by Jedidyah - [OLD] - Installed Mode
ryhad, I have an Inspiron 1525, but I had no problem getting online. Can you give more details?by Jedidyah - Hardware, Wifi's and Drivers
You don't use GIMP? ooops. I see that it's more than that. On their site, I saw downloads for squeeze and sid for the Wacom tablet. If that's your hardware, there are tutorials on how to install it. Good luck with that.by Jedidyah - Applications
Not a big fan of Chrome, and after tweaking Iceweasel, it's blazingly quick, thus endeth the frustration. I do like to have both Firefox/Iceweasel and Opera on any distro I'm using. 2 browsers are better than one I have Chrome on windoze, just don't find myself using it enough to develop a taste for it.by Jedidyah - Applications
I've been frustrated with Iceweasel as default browser - slowwwwww. I found this tutorial, simple and really made a difference:by Jedidyah - Applications
Well, it all works well. There are a couple of commentaries I like that I haven't found yet, but there's an overall good look, Search is straightforward, parallel versions work well. It looks like a good tool, and I'm sure I'll get good use out of it.by Jedidyah - Applications
I've been a dedicated eSword user for years now, but this looks really good. When I've got time, I intend to install it and give it a chance. Thanks for the heads up on it.by Jedidyah - Applications
Thanks. it looks like the reloading fixed grub already.by Jedidyah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
Victory! I reinstalled from the DVD, this time I first downloaded the .mod from email (and left it visible in download), then I connected to the WIRED internet, then everything seems to have gone smooth as silk! Looking forward to enjoying discovering this distro.by Jedidyah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
I burned the Elive 2.0 to dvd, chose the installer icon from the live cd, donated and downloaded the module. After installation and reboot, I see Error 15:File missing when it tries to boot Elive. I'm able to open Mint 8, but my WIndows Vista isn't in grub anymore. Any suggestions?by Jedidyah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
edit: here you will find different solved and merged topics, releated to botting and grub --- Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 1545. I was dual booting with Vista/Mint 8 when a grub2 conflict nearly ate my BIOS. I was able to recover Vista by installing grub from Puppy, but Puppy doesn't see my wireless. I like the looks of this distro, but before I install it, wanted to know if it will run inby Jedidyah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
