This is the solution. Thanks for nothing. In /etc/inittab remove two lines: 7:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty7 8:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty8 This way X session runs on tty7 instead of tty9. The usual thing is to run it on tty7 so when gmd (or xdm, slim, etc) starts, there is no keyboard because it is bound to tty7 than is already in use. I don't see why we need so manyby rah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
I've changed the default login manager from entrance to gdm. Every time I start gdm, keyboard is completetly off, is impossible to login because I cannot type. The only way is autologin. When I logoff (mouse does work), then the X session is restarted and keyboard works again (in gdm and ever). I tried this is in two computers and both behalf the same. Is there any special configurby rah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
Thank you for the answer. I have tried it but works only for enlightenment windows, in my icewasel, icedove, terminal, etc title bars remain the same. Any other place to adjust? My apologies for the wrong section choice. There are a lot of sections and boundaries are not always clear for me.by rah - Enlightenment
One annoying thing is when you click to close a window but it minimizes. On my computer, part of the area of each window button (minimize, maximize, close) belong to the one at the left side. If they cannot be accurate, why aren't they bigger to minimize this effect.by rah - Enlightenment
Also you can request for an ip with dhclientby rah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
I loosing the point. If your need a static ip just type something like: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address 10.0.1.52 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 10.0.1.0 broadcast 10.0.1.255 gateway 10.0.1.4 the gateway is for your router. Next in /etc/resolv.conf write down your quickest DNS servers ip addresses like that: nameserver 212.230.255.1 nameserver 212.230.255.129by rah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
I think, once installed, elive doesn't start your NIC. The file /etc/network/interfaces is: iface lo inet loopback auto lo You have to add this two lines to this file auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp don't forget you must be root to edit this file. I hope it helpsby rah - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
It works with a 2.6.21 kernel, but there isn't a an elive one. To get it you should switch apt sources to lenny (testing) and then apt-get install linux-image-2.6.21.... This is not recommended and you could break your boot but your NIC will work because the driver is included. Good luckby rah - Hardware, Wifi's and Drivers
Exactly, I was using scite for programming and for special cut/paste/replace/etc operations. Now I found geany and think is even better for that purposes. I only miss the autosave feature on_lost_focus. For an easy editor gedit could be a nice option. I would like both to be included, Geany as an advanced editor and gedit as a simple one. When I upgraded kernel to 2.6.21 I never could boot again. I got the same message.

I can't remember very well but I think it was an issue with sata and udev.by rah - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Thunar is great. I find it useful.

But it will be nice if it used different icons for mounted and unmounted drives.

When unmounting you know if it failed because of the alert.
But when succeeded there is no alert, and I have to right clic on the drive (and see mount option) to really make sure that its unmounted.by rah - Other Suggestions
Scite is buggy now, you said.
Meanwhile think about Geany (http://geany.uvena.de/ )as its replacement.
It's very light an full of smart featuresby rah - Other Suggestions
Thanks, now it seems to work ok. Last upgrade maybe.by rah - Enlightenment
Usually you don't need it, just mark and then click with the mouse middle button to paste.by rah - [OLD] - Installed Mode

The key binding for full screen in qemu is Ctrl+Alt+f , the same as maximize window. I remove this one. But I'm still cannot switch to full screen in qemu. I can get fullscreen from the start with the -full-screen parameter but then I can never go anywhere (other desktop, terminal Ctrl+Alt+F2, etc) unless I turn off the virtual machine. Any Ideas;by rah - Enlightenment
I want to have Spanish spell checker for icedove so I tried adding the dictionary from here but after I installed the add on without problems I for a second I could saw it in the list, but after that it disappeared. The next time went the same. Maybe is a root issue, but if I run icedove as root the profile will be different, wont it? I looked into packages too but didn't find anyby rah - [OLD] - Installed Mode
