I agree with leanmoha, paying would be fine if there was enough support. Debian support is good, but obviously not always useful when installing Elive. Elive users on the irc channel do not know a whole lot more. They seem to use the system without or with hardly any modifications. It sounds a bit like microsoft, if it runs properly you're lucky and if it doesn't you can always wait fby Torllan - Announcements of Newest Features
I've used the live cd v. 1.9.39 on both laptops and desktop and booting fine from the cd. Have you tried verifying your download (check using the MD5 sum found in the download directories) and burn at a low speed, especially if you're using the cd in another machine high burning speeds may cause incompatibilities.by Torllan - [OLD] - Live mode
I've installed version 1.9.39 and was reconfiguring the processes to launch at boot. Installed rcconf for this. I disabled some services (like acpi as I have an old system which doesn't support this), but acpi still loads at boot. This is what dmesg gives: [ 3.606559] thermal: Unknown symbol acpi_processor_set_thermal_limit [ 41.955740] powernow_k7: Unknown symbol acpi_processby Torllan - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
i have elive installed on a amd duron 800mhz with 160mb of ram. the system runs, but it's not really fast. for old systems there's distros like Deli linux or DSL, they use older kernel versions which aren't as heavy on the system as the 2.6.x versions. Obviously you won't have e17 on those systems though.by Torllan - Hardware, Wifi's and Drivers
I've tried the 1.9.39 unstable livecd and came across the following things: - on every installation the complete cd/dvd is checked on its integrity. could this please be one of the initial installer options instead of checking every time (what if you want to install onto several different pc's, have to wait for a long time every time for the cd to be checked)? - can you integrate theby Torllan - Other Suggestions
