I agree with you Mako Elite. Most of the mainstream linux distros are becoming way too bloated, and Ub*ntu-like. Elive is still very unique, lite, and easy to use for most common tasks. It keeps my older R60 laptop running fast and smooth! $15 can buy a steak dinner. I would happily buy someone a steak dinner for investing a lot of their time creating something that makes my life better. Elive iby wirelessjunkie - [OLD] - Installed Mode

As most of us know who have used Elive for some time, it is a really good distro. It comes already complete with most things that your average user would need for their basic computing needs. I love the fact that this distro has what most other distro's don't, and that is a uniqueness and simplicity about it that makes my overall computing experience more fun and personal. Problem solved, I removed the splash screen and it fixed it. I'm glad that it was a simple solution. ( by deleting splash=silent entry from the grub script. ) Everything else runs great!by wirelessjunkie - Laptops testers

Something else regarding payment... Is there any way you could set up something other than paypal? I had to temporarily end my boycotting of paypal to donate. Could you please have alternative methods like xipwire or something similar?by wirelessjunkie - Other Suggestions
I love this distro enough that I have donated 4 times. That being said I think it's really sad that the Elive team is letting their distro die away like this. Still no news, and a 6 month dead blog... combined with no email responses, and no responses on the forum. Im wondering if the forum is even being moderated anymore... or if Thanatermesis is logging in on sock accounts to market golf cby wirelessjunkie - Announcements of Newest Features
Im giving this a bump because I too am having the same issue on a Lenovo R60. Seems to be a reoccurring issue with IBM laptops. ( had no issues out of it on my Dell D400 Latitude ) Did some looking around on the internet, but havent had any good luck yet finding anything that has worked. I'll keep this thread updated if i am successful in solving the issue. -WJby wirelessjunkie - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
