I am all in favour of a lite version that installs only the OS and required utilities to make it tick along nice but an install that also gives you the option of additional packages would be great. I think that is where most other lite versions fall over, once you install there is usually stuff you end up removing straight away. Does anyone know if a lite version is on the cards after the releby smirnoff - Other Suggestions
I am a firefox fan i have to say, I have used opera all be it briefly in the past and found it ran slower on my system than firefox. That said think I may give it another go for a wee while, you never know I could convert yet?by smirnoff - Other Suggestions
Can you please please please add support for the broadcom wireless adapter bcmwl5. Absolutely cannot get this running with Elive which is odd as did have it running with ndiswrapper in a previous version if mind serves and no problem on ubuntu? I have just been looking at the Elive site and was looking at the download section. As you know in order to download Elive you have to pay a donation which in all fairness is pretty fair I think given how much time and effort has gone in to the development of the operating system, however I just saw this on the download page: "For the next stable release, it is planned to allow the doby smirnoff - Announcements of Newest Features
I have an intermittent problem with my install, when I click on the desktop most of the time the menu appears without a hitch, however occasionally when I click the menu wont appear? Hi All Wonder if you can help me. I have Elive installed and am currently using the Wifi-Wiz software which I have to launch manually on startup as well as connect manually to my wireless network. Going through this process is not a problem for myself but is for my girlfriend who has always been a Windows user. Hey guys wonder if you can help me. I am new to Elive / Linux and now have my system fully up and running and have now ditched windows in favor of Elive. I have my wireless connection up and running through ndsiwrapper the only thing is each time I log onto the laptop I have to enter in the command modprobe ndiswrapper. Hey guys I have just started using Elive recently and like it so much I have ditched windows for. The only problem I have now is that the partitions I originally created are not big enough and as a result I am having lots of disk space issues so this along with a couple of other reasons I have decided to do a do a clean install of the OS. I have added the ndiswrapper tool and the front end and have added the firmware for my wlan adapter however I believe I need to edit the modules file and specify the ndiswrapper module in there, the only thing is in order to save the changes to the moduleby smirnoff - Hardware Howtos
