Ok, to reply to myself, I found that cube rotation can be turned on in settings settings panel ecomorph, weather it turns the aspire one a bit to its maximal capacity so I wouldn't advice it. Another about Google earth, I had succes with a older variant without changing something in xorg.config I used version:4.2.0205.5730 build nov 13 2007 this on works fine (newer isn't always betby ElonGlasb. - Compiz version
Just some feedback, I have done a install (elive_1.9.25-compiz_unstable) on a aspire (the one with 8gb ssd), it seems to work inclusive mic, webcam, sound, network as well wifi etc, well everything in fact. Just there are some little issues, to mention network isn't allways loaded (the wired for example is sometimes not loaded and if not, it just don't load while trying to activate, itby ElonGlasb. - Compiz version
You could try to completely remove Iceweasel and then reinstall it. You can also try to install iceweasel locally (in your home directory) that will probably work for sure or try firefox 3.by ElonGlasb. - Applications
No not any, best is to see if you can download the program with synaptic because it checks the dependency's for you. If it isn't there you can try to install it still, but there is no guaranty it will work for sure.by ElonGlasb. - Applications
It depends on yourself what you need, for example I like the Gem version more than the the development version which came some weeks ago, because I couldn't install some applications and not use ardour and some other applications properly, so I reinstalled the Gem version, but maybe for you the latest version is more convenient.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Gem is the latest stable release still, as readed on the info for the development version there might come a option to migrate your users configuration to the new stable release, dunno what that means praktically.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hello banuffin, I can remember I had such a issieu a while back too, the problem was that the keyboard wasn't properly configured into the terminal while it acted ok in for example abiword, the problem is that you can only change it as root with keybconf in a terminal, and you can't because you can't become root, sudo isn't enabled so you may try it with elpanel there is aby ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hmm, the good thing is that it looks like you followed the right procedure, the bad is that the message shows somewhere that it is trying to do something which can't be done. I don't think I can help with that It looks like your cd/dvd reader isn't correctly handled, the only thing I can suggest is try to find some off these terms on google for a solution, or try a dev versionby ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode
Hello thht, Looks like there is some problem reading the cd especially because you tell it's working fine on another system.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode
Hello sk.shawn, Well at the first place is the md5sum only for checking if the cd is right downloaded(so no need to put it together), second you should burn the .iso file as a iso (guess you use Nero there must be some option for that if not done that it won't work). Then if that all went right and if you want to boot from a cd you should first give that option by turn it on into your biby ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode
Shure ardour should be in there, if you want to use audio apps you could install also: hydrogen, zynaddsubfx, amsynth and vkeydb, lmms, freebirth, audacity, rezound, terminatorx or whatever. I installed them without problems and they worked without problems just be shure you set qjackctl right. I tried other audiolinux distro's but but Elive-Gem rocks for that.by ElonGlasb. - Applications
Did you use Elive Gem? If you don't use the supposed nvidia-drivers can you startx then? If that is the case you could try to install a driver as explained in:by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode
Well anyway it's hard to say why it doesn't bring you into the desktop, at least what system are you using, did you check the md5sum?by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode

Is it only elpanel what is lost? The command for the E-panel is elpanel, why not bring it manually back into the menu?by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode

If you use e16 you should edit the menu('s) in your home /.16/menus then open the menu (produktivity.menu for example)where you want to add the executable like: " Emacs" NULL exec "emacs"by ElonGlasb. - Enlightenment

Seems that currently the download link is off. When it is online again try it again. You can also manually install it, if you have the file like GoogleEarthLinux.bin. Just in a terminal cd to the download and do chmod a+x GoogleEarthLinux.bin and after that ./GoogleEarthLinux.bin one by one followed with enter, it is not necessarily to do it with synaptic.by ElonGlasb. - Applications
Probably it isn't a bug, maybe audio isn't set up properly. Most likely you have to start Qjackctl and start it and make the desired connections with the applications you want to use for example Hydrogen and Zynaddsubfx (after you started them up). For multiple recording on different tracks you could install Ardour it will give you much more possibility's to expand recording posby ElonGlasb. - Applications
Thanks wasynyt, yes I know but it is off course easyer to install directly with apt-get and get all dependecy's resolved.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hello Kolovrat, I met this problem too, I asked for it in feature request as I also don't know how to resolve this issue. I know that in KDE it is quite easy to change keyboard on the fly. There is a possiblity to change your keyboard in the elpanel like you did but isn't much help. Somewhere I thought the KDE methode could be kopied or use some KDE modules but didn't help me.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Live mode
How secure is any system? For example I launch a peer to peer program as root wich ask me to make some directory's automaticaly shared. Question how secure is my system after that? It isn't. It's all up to you, isn't it?by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Most likely something went wrong while you made the icons for example I remembered when I started sunbird for the 1sth time and wanted to make an icon in the executable Gecko was already filled in wich should be sunbird, also with Skype I use another version than those delivered by Skype website and also with the executable on another place than in /usr/bin/ so if I make an icon it has to be checby ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Very good question I'm asking that myself too for example I can't find gtk-gnutella in the repository's standard delivered and don't know also where to find and add repo's so if someone knows, let it know.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode
For find back installed apps , you can use e17genmenu in a xterm it generates a quick menu inside your menu but mostly only those who are newly stalled in usr/bin.by ElonGlasb. - [OLD] - Installed Mode

Still I liked the KDE possibility where in the taskbar you could simply change the keyboard layout from lets say English to Russian and back. (without using root) The problem is now that I can change the keyboard with root-password but I can't put it back (due to the changed keyboard and the impossibility to changed it without using root password)by ElonGlasb. - Other Suggestions
