ah breakthrough - i was running gconf-editor as super user/sudo so it was changing the browser for my root user and not for my user!! so i just ran it without su and now it works. although only links with http:// in from work. ones that just start www. don't seem to do anything still - but it's better than nothing!by jonah - [OLD] - Installed Mode
