Yes, it is possible to install kde on elive. It should be in the reposities. But it might not be added to the entrance. Anu change that attitude, it is not nice to act like you do. If someone wants to install kde and you know how, you can help that person.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Elive will be released when it is ready, there are no deadlines, as such tend to make dev's to rush. And that is not what we want. If you want to know what is happening subscribe to and head to our irc chanel in irc.freenode.net #eliveby ¤wasynyt¤ - Other Suggestions
Check if you have deb elive main efl elive as your elive source in /etc/apt/sources.list if yes please try again few times. If it does not refresh the package list come to #elive in freenode so that you can receive live help. For the fonts I have no idea.. But I try to look for it.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Have you tried using those burned iso's on a different machine to see if they are working? If the other machine cant boot from it then there is propably something wrong with your cd burner. And if they work on a different machine your machine might have wrong bios settings or something other not working.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Live mode
It would be nice to be able to do ubuntu style and send stuff for free but that cannot be done. And even when selling the cost of the cd's and and post could rise higer than the cost of the product. Plus when ordering printed cd's you need to do it in large quanties and in todays fast world that is not good.. Perhaps you could utilize your schools/firms network connection to get it? Yes offcourse it is easyer, but if you want something that is not in the repos and it is the only thing you want from that source. It will be better to just do it by hand and not bother with repos and spend time thinking what goes wrong when you do apt-get distupgrade. Xorcerer, did you get your problem solved ?by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You should head over to our irc channels in freenode #elive and #elivemac and ask it there. That way you will receive realtime help and if it is a bug it will be addressed.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
The ubuntu one could work as both are based on debian. And that net install way should also work, if right sources can be found (elive is not made for net install so no guarantees) The way that that ubuntu tutorial explains is quite likely to work, but you need to think about those partitions, because having on ~800 mb partition is not good, if the hard drive is bigger than 5 gb. And no nby ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
rickjack email to thanatermesis at gmail dot com and explain your situation. He is the project leader and can give you another download. Or head to to irc, in freenode channels #elive and #elivemac. But first try to reinstall the system from the same cd and check what happens.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You should start by booting in live-cd mode and starting gparted. Then check the partition table. If the fileformat for you supposed to be windows partiton is swap I would say it is done for.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Live mode
Have you people tried elpanel. There is a tool that is used to configure network. If I remember correctly it is under administrator section.by ¤wasynyt¤ - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
One should allways have compile tools with him, so no need to remove those. Use synaptic to search stuff related to kde and especially *.dev stuff. Those are stuff you dont need if you are not going to compile anything kde related.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You can use normal debian repos. I think that elive uses debian stable or testing (not quite sure which one, but I would try stable) so debian sources will work. But remember to not change the kernel or anything else in elive to something that is in debian repo, as that will give you so nasty problems. And for ElonGlasb you can allways get single pieces of software from theyre authors, dowby ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You could try installing it as is.. But remember to not select any spefic graphics driver, select mesa or vesa. That way it should atleast try to boot. And after it does you can see errors and start looking what it needs. The better way is to search what hardware is in that machine and install/load all the needed modules. Then it will work.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
this is the thing you are searching "This tool is to manage the user configurations and to recover the original configuration from Elive for a particular program. You have many different options which you can see if you launch it without parameters, but basically only elive-skel upgrade is used"by ¤wasynyt¤ - Enlightenment
One possible solution could be also that your system has small ammount of ram (less than 512) and machine has to do swapping wich creates a lot read/writes on hd. You should check how much ram and swap you have in use, that can be done with top.by ¤wasynyt¤ - [OLD] - Installed Mode
