Still no response... Guess have to choose another distro, as Elive is completely useless for me without Internet connection :-(by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I downloaded it via eMule ;-)by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You don't have to buy Elive, it's free of charge. You only have to pay to download it via link on this page, as this money goes to maintain the download site.by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
So can anyone explain to me in few simple steps how to install Eppp 0.0.3 on EliveGem 1.0, please??? "./configure" gave me 3 missing packages: ecore-config, ewl, libxine. Where to get them?by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Could anyone post here links to the applications mentioned above?by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Maybe you should try to format your hdd/partition, on which you would like to install Elive, and then do it once again.by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I got another problem... When looking for a solution, I ran onto a program called Eppp 0.0.3. It may help me to connect to the net via my ST330 modem. Unfortunately I don't know from where to get dependencies needed to compile that application. According to INSTALL-file it requires: - eet - evas - ecore - efreet - edje - ewl - e (enlightenment I guess) Does anyone know from whereby Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I tried your method, but unfortunately got some errors. Couldn't copy and paste here the output from a console, because in Elive there isn't such an option! I always do this in Mandriva but console in Elive don't have cut, copy and paste options. Strange...by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hello alex2035! Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my situation is different than yours, as I'm using a Thomson SpeedTouch 330 USB modem. To connect on Mandriva I use PPPoA protocol. I also have to type my username and password and only then I'm able to get online. I'm wondering whether there's an ADSL-manager or similar in Elive. I think it could help me a lot.by Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Yesterday I finally managed to install and run Elive Gem 1.0 as my third OS. I went through configuration and all is working fine, as far as I can tell at the moment. Now I want to have Internet connection I have an ADSL connection which is working perfectly on Mandriva and Windows XP. In the first case the only thing I had to do was to copy two files to /lib/firmware folder and configure the cby Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I have a similar problem. Before I decided to install Elive as my third OS, I had Mandriva 2008.0 and Windows XP already running on my machine. Both of those two systems are installed on their own hard disks, which are SATA-150 Maxtor HDDs. I installed Elive on a third drive - ATA-133. While installing I choose not to install Elive's GRUB, as I was afraid of my other GRUB (Mandriva's) bby Zibi1981 - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Where exactly? I couldn't find it. Could you post a direct link?by Zibi1981 - Off topic
You can download it by a P2P client, like eMule ;-)by Zibi1981 - Off topic
Well, You want to see Elive more popular, don't you?by Zibi1981 - Off topic
I'm about to install EliveGem soon and just wonder whether it would give me some headache. Here is my spec: 1. AthlonXP 3200+ (32-bit) processor 2. ASUS A7V-600-X motherboard 3. Maxtor ATA-133 80 GB hard disk 4. Radeon X800Pro graphics card 5. Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 6. ADSL connection on Thomson SpeedTouch 330 modem 7. Logitech MX510 Optical mouse Live CD worked fine for me, butby Zibi1981 - Hardware, Wifi's and Drivers

I've got the same problem. All other forums look O.K., but the fonts here are too small. I think it doesn't depend on browser settings.by Zibi1981 - Off topic
> **MacUser Wrote:** > Why not donate? Maybe it's because I don't have a credit card or a pay-pal account Why not "officially" release a torrent? It would be much cheaper I guess. Well I've downloaded EliveGem via eMule anyway. Thanks for your replies MacUserby Zibi1981 - Off topic
And what about downloading Elive via P2P, like eMule or a BitTorrent client? Is it legal?by Zibi1981 - Off topic
Hi, I'm quite a newbie in Linux world and I have a question. Is Elive a distro only available for purchase (something like Xandros), or it also has a free branch like Mandrive Free i.e.? I'm asking because I had the opportunity to try Elive when Elive Revolution RL2 was attached to "Linux +" magazine and I liked it very much Now wanted to try EliveGem. Do I have to pay for itby Zibi1981 - Off topic
