hi, i am actually using ELIVE 1.9.56 live cd on a lenovo R61i laptop. my problem: after booting up the live cd the famous elive sound comes, but is much too loud, it would even break the speakers. this is not acceptable if you want to use it in public or want to show ELIVE to interested newcomers. my solution: when booting ELIVE, after selection of language you should enter the optionby chattrhand - [OLD] - Live mode
hi pjm and the other elive fans here! Hope nobody had to dye with hunger because he paid 5$ for an EliveCD instead of paying 500$ for a W**d**s license and for all the software you need for your work, not to mention the WGA problems when replacing a defective harddisk and so on. My first experience with Linux was Knoppix, and I am happy to have learned how to work with it. I have also purchasby chattrhand - [OLD] - Live mode
Hi, I am testing elive 1.72 LiveCD on 1. DELL Latitude c540 all running fine, :-) 2. MacMini Duo 1.66 GHz also very fine: full screen 1680x1050, sound, NIC ok. Harddisk int/ext full access, even HFS. Printer/Scanner not working. :-) 3. iMac 20" graphic is flickering, :-( no sound, NIC ok. not usable. 4. AMD K6 300 MHz only text mode.by chattrhand - MacBook version
