FOr some reason the 'cut-and-paste' deleted the '#' at the beginning of comment lines and didn't put in some of the newlines. sorryby jdoutt - [OLD] - Installed Mode
My installation is on an old HP Pavilion 7940 with 256 kB ram and a 1.0 gHz Intel Pentium III CPU (as reported by 'cpuinfo'). Again, I'm using Elive 1.9.14 unstable Do the lines you added follow (with no blank lines) the ones already in 'interfaces'? And do they start in column 1? Sometimes things like that can be important. Here's what my file looksby jdoutt - [OLD] - Installed Mode
The following worked for me (solution from another thread in these forums) edit /etc/network/interfaces & add the lines auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp Then reboot & it works!! (at least for me) I'm using Elive 1.9.14 unstableby jdoutt - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Subject says it all: No ethernet problems in live mode, but ethernet does not work at all in installed mode. I've tried 'ifconfig eth0 up' - to no avail! Any suggestions would be appreciatedby jdoutt - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I created two partitions: hdd5 & hdd6. The installation asks what partition to install the system on (hda5) but there seems to be no way to direct /home to hda6. How can I make hda6 as the /home partition during installation? Also, how can I do it 'after the fact' Thanksby jdoutt - [OLD] - Live mode
