it is needed to know the name of the driver for linux, or the driver for linux that has worked in previous elive versions for you. you can know this by using google with your model of webcam, when you know the name of the linux driver, report a "feature request" in the siteby Thanatermesis - Configurations and Hardware Solutions
To set keybindings you need to set them in the e17 preferences, in the Input section Sorry, I dont know what Breezy is. An installer code always works for the same computer, ulimited times, only until to the next stable version (very probably) A good number of configurations are saved, others needs to be made again (like e17 configurations) "Reconfiguring everything all"...by Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features
A) This problem is solved if im not wrong, the network configuration is saved on the installed mode, but also, it is very easy to setup it in recent versions of elive B) Yes, you can do almost the SAME things in live mode than installed, so you can see if the live mode satisfy your needs. There's only a few features/things that you can't do in live mode, for example use the Nurse modby Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features
By the way I have added to the FAQ list something about the "free" term that a lot of users may confuse, specially some new users and more specially some ones that comes from another gnu/linux OS that i dont want to say the name Anyways, I have added this link here because I think is a very interesting read for anybody, no matters if you know correctly the "free" term or nby Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features
Try the version 1.9.51 (yes, compiz versions are merged now in the main elive system, you need to enable ecomorph module) remember:by Thanatermesis - Compiz version
The problem seems fixed for nvidia in 1.9.51, try it (yes, with compiz, but you need to enable it manually with the ecomorph module)by Thanatermesis - Compiz version
Well, there's the actual plans that i have on mind: * About the Elive User Guide: I want to do something entirely different, normally the users doesn't read (let's see... a 2 % of them read it), so my idea is to make a "interactive tutorial", that is, an application with images and stuff that the users like, an entire application that has events and interactivity, thisby Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features
Well, if we dont have to install samba then we have to install nfs, it is the similar thing About speeds, I suppose that nfs is more fast since it uses UDP, but that's a reason that makes NFS so unstable, samba is very fast too, maybe not that fast as NFS but perfectly fast for all (my) needs , specially while i can transfer via wireless without problems like NFS can have About your sby Thanatermesis - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Just curiosity, is there any problem to use samba for sharing files between linux computers (no windows) ? I mean, it looks to work correctly since NFS can give a lot of problems, it is possible that NFS is faster due to the UDP protocol, but i really want stability than speed , speed will be required for special purposes only, like 'really' server machines and such, what's yourby Thanatermesis - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Thanks Well the new stable is on the way, let's see if we can release it as soon as possible and to have a better organization for the future release versions (a better plan with a list of things to include and not work on other things/features until the next one, etc)by Thanatermesis - Good Experiencies
Thanks for the feedback it is a good readingby Thanatermesis - Good Experiencies
The new version 1.9.48 includes support added by default for sharing things (compatible with windows), it should be also easy to setup the printer too (in elpanel maybe), please try it and give us a feedback thereby Thanatermesis - [OLD] - Installed Mode

"checking out the distro", yes, specially since there's thousands of GNU/Linux distros (even if Elive is in a good ranking on Distrowatch) Well, the idea about the free installs (yes, there's an idea about to install Elive free), is very simple and good for the user, and good for Elive: There's some users that simply "can't pay" by any reason, maybe becaby Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features

Today I have received an email from somebody that has say that don't want to try Elive because there's more complaints than good experiencies threads in the forum (lol), Ok so I have see that there's a really lot (more than 80 %) of posts on that thread that are just normal questions about Elive, I have moved some to the correct forum sections, and also removed old/solved ones.by Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features
That's why the payment is moving to for install now , so you download Elive, run it in Live mode all that you want, and if everything is working correctly, then pay for install (if you are not satisfied with it or some driver not works, just don't pay)by Thanatermesis - Announcements of Newest Features

The problem of the developer is that is a perfectionist , that means that he's trying to made a supa-nice release 2.0 but he want to implement too much nice things for that version and doesn't quite realize that he can implement them after the release of 2.0 so for the next one. Yes, he knows about that and he's trying to cut off the list of required things for 2.0, we can just waiby Thanatermesis - Good Experiencies
