Thanks Agust for your tip, but there was no issue with the iTaskNG. I had checked it already and had not found anything wrong with that part of the GUI. In the on-going quest to find what was wrong with my installation, I started to notice a general slowdown of the GUI interface, especially when using Thunar file manager. That is something I had not noticed in previous unstable iterations ofby nene - Enlightenment
Hi, I am looking for some help trying to figure out how to find the root cause for my Enlightenment instability in Topaz. I have a Vaio VGN-Z570N which is relatively new. I installed on it eLive 1.9.49, and subsequently 1.9.56 unstable versions, and it ran for quite a while without any issues. This week I decided to get Topaz installed. I downloaded it, and did a clean install on the Vby nene - Enlightenment
The system tray was okay with the unstable releases up to 1.9.56. The sticky notes were there, and you could notice that it was not fully transparent, because there was a white edge around the icon. With Topaz release, the bluetooth and power icons being together, seem to have made it worse. That should be addressed and make sure it gets good transparency.by nene - Enlightenment
I totally agree that the payment technique should have been better developed, as this seems to be one of the turn offs I've read most about. I still love the distro though. Any idea if you can pay for the license key in advance?by nene - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I installed the "emodule-screenshot" using Synaptic, and added the module. You can use this for screen capturing, if that is what you are looking for.by nene - Applications
Previously using an application such as Tortoise on a Windows based machine, I had come to miss it's simplicity once I moved to a full Linux based OS such as eLive. So I embarked on a search for such a like tool for the default Thunar file manager and came upon one that seems to work beautifully. Before the tool was installed, I mostly did SVN checkins using svn-workbench (available app viby nene - Applications
I had a similar issue and was never able to install the VMWare tools. But that was a little over a year ago, when I was using Windows XP as the primary OS. I run now Elive as my primary OS, and I use with Windows XP and Windows 7 on two different virtual machines, for testing purposes, and for Outlook as my company uses Exchange. I think you will have better luck with VirtualBox as it doesby nene - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hi Mermouy, I had the same issue with Nvidia cards on dual monitors running dual X-Servers. When I tried to disable the Flame emodule, it would crash Enlightnment, and the flames would never disappear. I ended up logging into the Synaptic Package Manager and removing the emodule-flames much like yourself, to get rid of the silly thing. I don't have the same issue when I run on a singby nene - Enlightenment
Hi Mermouy, I currently running kernel "2.6.30.9-elive-core2-highmem-686" with all the latest updates of eLive 1.9.56, and was able to create a screenshot. Unfortunately it only creates a screenshot of the primary screen on a dual monitor running dual X-Servers. I would recommend the following: 1. Uninstall the emodule-screenshot using Synaptic Package Manager 2. Update the envby nene - Enlightenment
I've looking everywhere to get this done as well, and have not been able to find it yet. Will keep on looking, but hope someone can give a good answer to this mystery.by nene - Enlightenment
Finally after a few days of really trying it out, I found something that worked. - Downloaded the source for pidgin 2.6.3 from: - Also found good directions on building at the following site: - Because I'm using linux-image 2.6.30.9, I got the source package from Synaptics manager for this kernel release. - I also installed the following libraries using Synaptics, along withby nene - Applications
Thanks Alex for the quick reply. According to my Synaptics package manager, I have 'libglib2-0-0' version 2.16.6-2 installed, so the libraries are there. I also show that I have gtk2 version 2.1.4. I don't believe it is an issue with the Operating System. When attempting to run './configure' from Gyachi 1.1.71 source, I get the error: checking for GTK2... no confiby nene - Applications
Hi friends, I've been running eLive 1.9.4x for a few weeks now, and been extremely happy since moving from Fedora 11. The Audacity app no longer crashes like it used to....but onto another favorite topic of mine: What are folks using for Messenger application? 1. The default Pidgin seems to be old, and no longer able to login to Yahoo. Found various posts about changing the connecby nene - Applications
Thank you so much 'leanmoha'. That was genius. I was missing the key step of installing startup manager, and setting the kernel to 2.6.30. Thank you for the extremely easy to follow instruction set. All is working. Sincerely, Nelsonby nene - Hardware Howtos
Hi, Thanks in advance for any assistance. I need help getting my Intel Wifi 5100 card working on my Elive installation. I recently removed an installation of Fedora 11 64-bit from my Vaio VGN-Z570N because I was getting frustrated with the fact that sound would go good or bad with every single update of the installation. I use Audacity quite a bit, and sound had to be reliable. I haveby nene - Hardware Howtos
