Hi Oli, your english is understandible enough. According your username (muellmichvoll) I presume you are a german native speaker. If it is more helpful fore you we can discuss this in german if you like. Hi Sebastien, I am not an expert in case of video but you can try Avidemux or have a look in synaptic, section multimedia. If you put the debian multimedia repos in your sources.list you can install handbrake. Greetings Squirrel.by Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode

Hi determinedblkman, this thread is for the payment problem. You have already paid. For the problem of your installation it is better to create an own thread. If you have the installer module on your USB stick plug it in during installation. The installer will ask you about the modules location. Select it on your stick and the installation will continue. Hi erremme, reading again your posting that you have installed three kernel images. You are probably working with the last of them 2.6.30.9-elive-686. As I understand right the sources and the header files are installed for this kernel. Have you installed the build-essential package? If not install it and run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup. Do not compile a new kernel. This is not necessary for Virby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hi Taz62, not really sure to understand what you are doing with the live CD. I have a nvidia card with my elive. But I installed an ATI 9600 on a Debian system. I remember that I have to download a package from ATI. It was a tar.gz file. After extracting I found a directory with a lot of files and a description what to do. One of the files was an fglrxconfig.sh. This file has build and placedby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hi erremme, ok, you have found the kernel-sources. Only one of them is to install. The source of the kernel you are using and the kernel headers. Furthermore the build-essential package. That is enough. Yesterday I have installed VirtualBox on my 1.9.60. It is working. Which kernel you are using? Look in Synaptic with the search function and type kernel or kernel-image. The emodule screenshot is a good alternative. I have it also installed on 1.9.60. Put it in a shelf where you want and click with a mouse on it. You can adjust whether you want to capture the whole desktop or the active window. But I have also installed gnome-utils. It works with the print screen key. This should also be possible in 1.9.61. Hi erremme, Virtual Box is an external program and not a part of the debian repositories and consequently you have to build a clear area before installing it. Install the kernel headers and the kernel sources at first. Check your kernel image (installed version). If you do not know how to do it look with the search function in synaptic "kernel-image" . If you have installed the dependencies as mentioned by Runaway1956 you can run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup at any time to build the kernel modules. Greetings Squirrelby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Dear arby, there is no seperate link for payment. download the image from www.elivecd.org, burn the CD and try it in the live mode. If you want to install it start the installer from the desktop. In the beginning of installation it will ask you for donation. Than you can do it. Hereafter the installation process will start. Greetings Squirrelby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I have no problem to make a donation. But not under this terms and conditions. It is a data security risk. It would be better to give a bank account for these kind of payments and the user can pay directly. Greetings Squirrelby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Dear all, I tried again to install version 2.0, agreed to pay and fill up the form. At least I have to confirm the terms and conditions of PayPal independent of the way of payment. I tried it via credit card and via bank account. Without confirmation of these terms you cannot pay. I have read the explanations of these terms. It is a lot to read. But there are to much open questions. In thby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hi leanmoha, support for more than 4 GB ram seems to be implemented in version 2.0 Topaz. The installer explains how to handle it. Greetings Squirrelby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hi scarpenter, present practice of elive is to give a donation from stable release to stable release. F.e. if you have installed elive 1.0 and you have paid you can install all following development releases until 2.0 Topaz. For 2.0 Topaz you have to give a new donation and all following development releases are free until the next stable version. Greetings Squirrelby Squirrel - [OLD] - Installed Mode
So far as I found out untill now I can confirm that elive runs smoothly and much more stable than all other distros with E17. For Open GEU it is the same as Moon OS, both are running fine on the Live CD. If you have installed them there are some issues depends on its base system Ubuntu. Sometimes a freeze. Dear Thanatermesis, first of all, many thanks for this amazing distro. It is a really great work. I have elive installed and update it periodically. Presently it is 1.9.60. I give you right: This is not the correct place for religious topics. But if a distro like elive broaches the issue of a critical / religous Website like Zeitgeist critical comments must be allowed. Hi, you can download the general installer package. That will install the Open office in the /opt directory. For the pro box with deb package is a file in the deb directory which describes how to integrate this disc for apt and to install it.
