Hey all, thinking about buying one of these bad boys, and have some simple questions: 1.) Is all the EeePC's hardware supported? 2.) How would I install Elive without a CD drive? Would I need an external? Thanks!by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
It simply says: /dev/sda1 (something something) errors found, scan forced Then it proceeds to scan for 5-10 minutes Then says: (Control-D) to continue or password to enter maintenence. The drive works fine, and I wish it would stop doing this.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I'll give that a shot, thanks sva.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Yeah, changing the GTK theme doesn't help, I noticed. It will change font sizes in programs (especially noticable on the buddy list in GAIM) but not the title bars of windows or anything. Wish I could help, I found the default font too tiny as well. I now use the Milky theme regularly, much more pleasant on the eyes.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Go take a gander at my thread, there's a few options to add stuff to entangleby hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Thanks a bunch, mon. Used e17genmenu, and it did add a few of my newer apps to entangle. However, still a few questions: 1.) Audacity doesn't have a valid icon, just the Elive symbol. How do I add/change its icon? 2.) A few programs (LMMS, Reborn) still weren't added with e17genmenu. Anything else I can do? 3.) Is there any way to remove items from entangle altogether? There areby hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I've noticed that Entangle doesn't always list all installed applications..... For example, VLC and gnotepad+ don't appear on the list. How would I add these to iBar or Favorites otherwise? Also, is there a way to manually add applications to Entangle?by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
You guys don't get enough props for this. I keep coming back to Elive. Better than any other distro. E17 is just too goddamn beautiful. Keep up the good work!by hxcobd - Good Experiencies
Depending on your memory card, you might have to mount it. Plug the USB adapter (or whatever) in, and open a terminal: su root Then type "fdisk -l" to list all storage devices There should be HDA, which is your hard drive, and SDA, or something similar, which could be another drive Then try to mount it: mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I'm on 0.6.9 and have the same repos that phoenix is using, by the looks of it, and definitely don't see Exaile or Pidgin anywhere in here.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Figured as much. Thanks phoenix.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Is this possible? I wished to use this BeOS theme, which seems to reference E 15 (judging by the DR15?): But it comes in just a number of files, rather than 17's .edj (I think?) theme files. Any ideas?by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I'm disturbed by the lack of fairly big-name programs in Synaptic for Elive. (Pidgin, Exaile, etc.) Get on that shit, devs!by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
I'm not a developer or anything, but based on past experiences, it just sounds like a poor install, to me. I'd try reburning the Elive CD and reformatting your entire drive if possible. When you reinstall, make sure to install bootloader to MBR, also.by hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
Hey, first off, just want to say I am using Elive 0.6.9 and absolutely love it. Beautiful distro, works like a charm in almost every respect. However, I have one complaint. Whenever my machine boots, when I reach the blue "Please wait while your system is booting"-type screen, Elive appears to scan by USB external hard drive (160 gig) for an EXTREMELY long time (5-10 minutes) everby hxcobd - [OLD] - Installed Mode
